Hold on, players! I think you're looking at the event too aggressively. A good Dust player uses "Management" thinking to succeed and achieve her gains. The gains aren't always going to be reachable in the first month---so you work your progress in other areas, and let the gains arrive at the end of the event, not knock yourself into bankruptcy trying to accomplish gains early.
The KEY thing about the "Million Cone Challenges" is that every kill ANYONE makes, is helping EVERYONE playing the matches. If I kill you, it's helping both of us---if you kill me, it's still helping ME as well as you.
So, get shrewd. You don't need to Kill a single player in these next few days---any proto-stomper who kills you in 20 seconds flat just did you a favor. No, I am not joking---this is Proper Financial Dusting.
If he kills you twice in 20 seconds, where it would have taken you 40 seconds to get through his suit and succeed in killing him once,GǪ then he's helping you reach the Clone-count nearly FOUR times as fast as you ever could.
SoGǪ if he's running around in his 130 K proto suit, and I deliberately dress in the CHEAPEST beggar-in-the-gutter gear I can possibly find (like, the 5K militia pet-groomer suit)GǪ I can afford to help him kill me 10 times during every match--AND I WILL STILL GET AN ISK PROFIT at the end of every battle! $$$$$$$$$.
Since there are five days to the event, the odds of you getting ONE win very 1-1/2 days, are almost AUTOMATICALLY guaranteed. You really shouldn't TRY to win very hard right awayGǪthere is NO need. It is likely to happen just as a natural coincidence over the course of five days, without you having to make a special effort.
If I were playing this Event, I'd be SKATING through these matches, just running' and shooting. Trust me, be like an evil robber baron, and LET THE PROTO BOYS DO ALL YOUR WORK FOR YOU-- just wear a fitting so cheap that those loveable thugs can't even put a dent in your expanding wallet.
GǪ.Most of those players are too "Proto" to understand the favour they'll be doing for you anyway! Didn't you know? Plasma Steroids make you go brain-damaged. ()

- Starter player gets killed mercilessly
- Horrible WP totals and match losses result in poor ISK payouts
- Protoplayers win match and rank top in EoM rankings, earning more ISK
- Starter player gained 150k ISK from the match. No loss.
- Protoplayer died once. Lost 75k ISK to restock. Gained 250k+ ISK in rewards. (I have earned upwards of 450k in pubs, by the way. Just depends on the day and how many vehicles get wrecked)
- Protoplayer made more ISK and got to murder everyone.
- Protoplayer has a higher chance of completing his daily missions since he isn't dead half the ******* match.
Okay, Riley,GǪ I can see that you are paying attention to what the proto player is making, and what the Proto-player's score is compared to yours, and what Daily Missions you are able to achieve.
But, please tell me you're not taxing yourself with all these objectives DURING THIS EVENT?
Those are pride things, and yes, they are very important to each of us Dusters during our routine gameplay. But you're only hurting yourself, if you're holding onto these ideas WHILE in a Million Cone Challenge.
The only good reason for anyone to join in this kind of event, is to put the pride aside, and throw in some fun effort in an event (not a personal-mission thing) that is going to benefit EVERYBODY EQUALLY. That's what's so socially cool about the Million Clone events. The other events are about getting rewarded more as you put in more----THIS is the only event where the reward is duplicated equally to everybody, and your personal missions shouldn't compete with that.
Save the thoughts about what the other player is making, or thoughts about getting 5 out of 8 Daily Missions, etc, for after the event is over. It makes getting through the Clone Event more fun, and way less frustrating.
